Good Friday

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Colossians 1:15-20

Please know that you are invited to the church I attend, Community Christian Church, Kansas City. Today we are offering two services to celebrate this day:

Service of Humility
Led by Community’s pastoral and musical staff, offering worshipers a time of reflection, prayer, stirring music, and spiritual renewal, as the chapel's pulpit, lectern, and communion table are dramatically shrouded in black crepe, during an inspirational remembrance of Jesus’ crucifixion.

In Bible study today we finished up the chapter on spiritual gifts.

Miguel was kind enough to prepare a study on the Passover. He even brought in Matzoh for us to try. He had several pieces of scripture prepared for us to read.

April 16th, Doug & Bethany Pearson will be with us! Carol will be reserving a bigger conference room for us and she said to make sure and invite others as you think of them.

Doug asked that we pray for them and the people of India on Good Friday as they'll be hosting services that will instruct people about how Christ died and rose again. :)

Other prayer requests:

Please offer prayer for the family of the grandmother who was killed by her grandson.

Please offer prayer for the Supreme Court as they decide on a case about marriage.

Please pray for Sally as she has just undergone surgery. Please pray for her heart to be softened towards our Lord.

Please pray for an un-named woman as she undergoes treatment for cancer and a host of other problems.

John had a praise report. His daughters heart appears to be softening towards our Lord. They will be attending a play on April 6th and he has asked for our prayers for his children.

God is good!

"stamped with the presence of God"

"Unless in the first waking moment of the day you learn to fling the door wide back and let God in, you will work on a wrong level all day; but swing the door wide open and pray to your Father in secret, and every public thing will be stamped with the presence of God." - Oswald Chambers, from Run Today's Race

March 5 Bible Study

Today we had a different study than usual. One of our members suffered a loss of a family member and another is losing a friend. So we met together in prayer for the first part of our hour.

Then, Anthony brought a movie for us to enjoy. God of Wonder - a movie full of knowledge and beauty and the wonder of our Creator.

You can rent it at Netflix or buy it - whatever you do - watch!

Please remember Carol and her family. Please remember Beth and her friend.

Thank you.
